The Imperial College NHS Blatchford team provide orthotic & prosthetic services at Charing Cross Hospital and an adult and paediatric Orthotic service at St Mary’s Hospital.

Underground:
Baron’s Court station (situated in Zone 2 on the Piccadilly line) is the closest underground station to Charing Cross Hospital. The station is approximately a 9 minute walk from the hospital.

Hammersmith station (Zone 2) which serves the Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Piccadilly lines, is also an option. The tube station is approximately a 10 minute walk or five minute bus ride from the hospital.

Bus:
Routes 190, 211, 220 and 295 all travel from the bus station, located next to Hammersmith underground station, to Charing Cross Hospital. Please use the Transport for London bus map to help you find your way to hospital.

Overground:
Kensington Olympia overground railway station is approximately a 22 minute walk from the hospital.

Car:
Whenever possible, we strongly encourage you to use public transport to travel to and from Charing Cross Hospital. However, if you decide to travel by car, please plan your journey in advance. We have a small number of car parking spaces. There is also a pick-up and drop-off point directly outside the hospital’s main entrance on Fulham Palace Road.

Our Services

  • Prosthetics

    The Prosthetic team at Charing Cross provide prosthetic services for lower limb amputees & people with limb difference, with an outpatient service providing assessment, provision & upkeep of lower limb prosthetic devices onsite. Prosthetic rehabilitation is supported by a dedicated NHS specialist physiotherapy team and rehabilitation consultant.

  • Orthotics

    The Orthotic Team supply and service a range of custom and ready-made devices including insoles and specialist footwear, ankle foot orthoses (AFO), knee braces, spinal bracing (acute and chronic), protective helmets, upper limb orthoses, compression garments.
