Our Services

  • Prosthetics and Orthotics

We have a fully equipped onsite workshop and “test track” rehabilitation garden which offers different types of terrain for patients to practice walking.

The Prosthetics department has a full multi-disciplinary team with a Specialist Consultant in Amputee Rehabilitation, Prosthetists, Physiotherapists, an Occupational Therapist, an Amputee Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Rehabilitation Engineer – all complemented by a team of highly skilled Technicians.

We use gait assessment equipment including a 2-metre pressure plate and Rodin CAD system for production of digital models. The service provides treatment for lower limb amputees living in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and parts of East Buckinghamshire and North-west Essex.

Referral process

How do I access treatment?

Referrals are usually made through the surgical team following amputation. However, later referrals can be made by your GP or a healthcare professional.

The Orthotics department services inpatients and outpatients with designated adult and paediatric clinics. We treat an extensive range of conditions including stroke, neuromuscular conditions, diabetic foot, lower limb musculoskeletal complaints and common foot pathologies. Orthotic referrals are usually made through a GP or consultant.
